UUNA TEK® Partners with The Bartlett School of Architecture (UCL) to Showcase the Future of Automated Drawing at Annual Summer Show

LONDON, UK — June 2026 — UUNA TEK®, a global leader in high-precision automated drawing solutions and pen plotting technology, today announced its official partnership with The Bartlett School of Architecture at University College London (UCL). As part of this collaboration, UUNA TEK sponsored (with exclusive offer) the prestigious institution’s annual Summer Show by providing its flagship technology, the iDraw H A1 Pen Plotter, to power a cutting-edge architectural installation.

The installation was conceptualized and executed by the Master of Engineering (MEng) Engineering & Architectural Design programme (Unit 3). The project successfully bridged the gap between complex digital parametric modeling and the tactile, physical heritage of traditional draftsmanship.

Reclaiming the "Ritual of the Mark" in a Digital Era

In an architectural landscape currently dominated by instantaneous AI-generated imagery and hyper-precise virtual simulations, the exhibition set out to challenge the detachment from the material world. By utilizing the iDraw H A1 Pen Plotter, students reintroduced the element of physical time, friction, and texture into their designs.

"The drawing machine reintroduces this lost physical quality," noted the academic team in the exhibition profile. "By slowing the process down, we return to the inherent gravity of the line, celebrating the rhythmic, intentional movement of ink onto surface... re-materialising the architect’s creative intent through a meditative performance."

A Collaboration of Global Standards

The initiative began when Associate Professor Graeme Williamson (ARB RIBA) sought a hardware partner capable of executing intricate structural geometries on an automated canvas for the world-renowned exhibition, which draws a massive global audience of alumni, practicing architects, and researchers.

"We are incredibly honored to have our iDraw technology selected by an institution as historically significant and forward-thinking as The Bartlett," said Una Tao, Founder of UUNA TEK. "Our mission has always been to empower creators to bring digital precision back into the tangible world, and seeing these brilliant students push the boundaries of spatial geometry with our plotter is the ultimate realization of that vision."

The featured work was led by Lead Academic Collaborators Associate Professor Graeme Williamson and Dr Christopher Leung, alongside Unit 3 MEng students Liisa Link, Davie de Wolff, and Philip Bauer.

The installation gallery and a deep dive into the technology are now available on the official UUNA TEK blog. Official installation photography was captured by acclaimed architectural photographer Richard Stonehouse.
