How to Create a Signature in Concepts App and Use It with iDraw H SE Pen Plotters

Creating a clean, realistic digital signature and writing it with a real pen has never been easier. In this guide, we’ll show you how to design your handwritten signature using the Concepts App and perfectly reproduce it on paper with the iDraw H SE pen plotters. Whether you're signing certificates, packaging, contracts, or personal letters, this workflow gives you professional, authentic handwriting results with automated precision.

Follow the steps below and place your screenshots in each step section.

Step 1: Open Concepts App

Open the Concepts app on your tablet.
The software will automatically create a blank canvas for you.

Step 2: Switch to Line Mode (Wire Tool)

We are only creating a signature, so choose the “Wire” tool.

This allows you to create clean strokes ideal for signature writing.

Step 3: Choose Pen Thickness

Adjust the pen size to match your preferred signature look.
A slightly thinner stroke often looks more elegant for digital signatures.

Step 4: Adjust Smoothing

Adjust the stroke smoothing setting.
To keep handwriting natural, we recommend keeping smoothing under 10% for the best real-pen writing effect.

Step 5: Create Your Signature

Now, use your stylus to hand-draw your signature.
Take your time to draw naturally and smoothly—this version will be used by the iDraw H SE Pen Plotters to reproduce your handwriting.

Step 6: Export Signature as SVG

Once you're satisfied with the signature:

Tap the Export button (top-right)

Select SVG format

This format keeps the signature vector-sharp for plotting.

Step 7: Transfer the File to Your Computer

Save the exported SVG file to your tablet storage
→ then copy it to your computer.

Step 8: Open SVG in Inkscape

Open the signature SVG file in Inkscape.

Then adjust the canvas/background size to standard signature dimensions.

Tip: Keep the signature proportion natural — not too big, not too small

Step 9: Resize Signature on the Page

Scale the signature so it fits nicely inside the adjusted background/canvas.

This ensures the writing machine prints it cleanly.

Step 10: Load Paper and Position Pen on iDraw H SE Pen Plotters

Place your document under the pen

Install your ink pen into the holder

Move the pen holder to the signature location on the paper

Prepare your document line or signature space where the signature should be placed.

Step 11: Start Signature Writing

In Inkscape:

Go to Extensions > iDraw H SE Control > Apply

The iDraw H SE Pen Plotters will begin writing automatically
